Nexto Pharmaceuticals Limited is currently a wholly Ghanaian-owned company which was established by its current Executive Director, Mr. Emmanuel Darko. Nexto Pharmaceuticals was incorporated on October 17, 2011 under the Company Act, and commenced business on October 18, 2011. The Company is currently headquartered at the North Industrial Area enclave at Kaneshie, Accra. Nexto Pharmaceuticals is active in the distribution of medical devices to various public and private hospitals, clinics and health centers in Ghana.
Nexto Pharmaceuticals currently focuses its activities on the distribution in Ghana of seven main products:
From the year 2013 to 2015, the Company generated aggregate revenue of about 3.2M Ghana Cedis from its surgical gloves product line and has seen a steady growth. Nexto Pharmaceuticals is looking to be among the leading importers of medical devices in Ghana, and to develop and grow its own brand NEXLIFE®. Within 3 to 5 years, the Company wants to be one of the leading players in Ghana.
The Company does not have any holding, sister company or subsidiary in activity in Ghana or anywhere else. The Company is authorized under the Regulations to undertake the following:
- Distribution of medical and surgical equipment;
- Import and export of pharmaceutical products;
- Ownership, establishment, management and maintenance of hospitals research and diagnostic centers.

Emmanuel Darko founded Nexto Pharmaceuticals in 2011, after an extensive experience in the medical devices distribution industry as a Sales and Marketing Manager. At his previous companies Surgmed Ghana Limited and Ike Chris Medical Suppliers, Emmanuel advised the CEO on the products the company should import along with the prospecting of new clients and the building of the brand.
Emmanuel Darko holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Marketing from the University of Management Studies (UCOMS) Ghana, along with a diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Mr. James Kugblenu Tetteh
Chief Finance Officer
James is the Accountant at Nexto Pharmaceuticals Limited. He has a good background in accounting, taxation, auditing, financial management and cost and management accounting. He is currently a qualified Chartered Accountant. He graduated with a First Class in HND Accountancy from Koforidua Technical University. James is also reading a two-year degree in bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) with the University of Cape Coast.
Prior to joining Nexto Pharmaceuticals Ltd, James started his work career with Inter-Class Associates Ltd as an Audit Officer and was later promoted to Audit Associate and finally to Assistant Manager, (Tax & Audit). He also worked with Business Finance Consultants Ghana Limited as a Technical Manager/Consultant.
He was a teaching assistant at the Koforidua Technical University. James was a tutor at the ICAG Professional Classes, Koforidua, where he provides guidance to ICAG students in Financial Management, Taxation and Cost and Management Accounting.
He is hardworking, dedicated, and possesses good communication skills. He attaches a great sense of purpose and a high level of commitment to any given task while taking into account, group interest in carrying out his task. James brings on board an excellent blend of advisory, financial statements preparation and interpretation, practical knowledge and application of Ghana Tax Laws as well as setting of accounting/bookkeeping system.
Eugene Christopher Nii Adjei Tetteh
Operations and Marketing Manager
The Head of Operations joined Nexto Pharmaceuticals at the end of 2016 on a full-time basis to supervise the logistics and stock management functions. Eugene has 12 years’ experience working in the telecommunications industry, customer service, retail, finance and credit. Most recently, Eugene was in charge of logistics and sales within the Department of Commercial Operations at Vodafone Ghana, where he also developed a system for stock management and cash handling.
Eugene holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Ghana/Methodist University College Ghana, along with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the University of Ghana/Wisconsin University College Ghana.
Head of Management Information Systems
The Management Information Systems function is a strategically outsourced consultancy led by Mr. Gilbert Osei-Dadzie, an Information Systems expert with over 10 years industry experience. He holds a Masters in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology and have worked in sectors such as International Cultural/Education, Donor Funded Projects, and Telecommunications.
Gilbert comes on board with vast experience in Project Managing deployment of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Accounting Systems and Enterprise Content Management. He also has practical knowledge of Data Science/Business Intelligence, Software Development and Relational Database Management.
He is a member of a number of internationally reputable bodies such as the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET)-UK, Association of Computing and Machinery (ACM)-US, and Association for Information Image Management (AIIM). He is the Chief Executive and Chief Systems & Engineering Officer of SmartTEK-AES, a Science, Technology, Engineering, Sustainable Agriculture and Research based company in Accra.
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA)-Ghana, has developed a specific framework for the registration and importation of medical devices for use in humans as well as medical devices for veterinary uses. Medical devices must be safe, effective and manufactured from premises that meet the codes of current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs).
Nexto has already introduced its application with the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA)-Ghana for the registration of a list of 13 medical devices under the NEXLIFE® brand. Getting these products registered will allow Nexto to be in a condition to import products in Ghana and to join the limited list of authorized medical device importers in the country.
